Submitted by William on Sat, 11/22/2008 - 15:28

Capricorn: Single channels system next to vessel setup

This system was set up by Li Bao and is based around an AxoPatch 200B amplifier. The system, this low-noise optimized for recordngs of single channel events. A UV epifluorescence lamp is attached and the inverted Nikon Diaphot microscope is equipped with dichroic cubes that allow the selection. Components of the system include:

  • Nikon Eclipse T2000-U inverted microscope (10x, 20x and 40x air objectives as well as a 40x oil objective) with UV lamp (dichroics for GFP, RFP, DAPI fluorescence)
  • Axopatch 200B amplifier with DigiData 1322A ADC converter
  • Bio-Logic RSC160 solution changer (8 tubes)
  • Burleigh PCS-500 right-hand manipulator
